Japanese tapas This place is great for their chicken specials (like the teba-saki: slightly spicy fried chicken wings) and their tapa-style japanese dishes. You can go with a group of people and order a large assortment of dishes (which are small and range from $2.95-6 a plate) to try out. Some of the best ones include the scallop and enoki mushrooms, pork cutlet, soboro (ground chicken w/rice), and more.
Editorial Review – International chain features Japanese-style tapas like teba-saki chicken wings and fish cake balls with cheese.
Good place for dinner with friends – Furaibo is great for a small group of friends to enjoy dinner together. They have a pretty decent selection of tapa dishes to choose from and the quality has been consistently good everytime I've gone there. On the down side, do expect a wait whenever you go...it's definitely worth it though.
Always Fun – If you haven't tried so-called "Japanese Tapas", then this is the place to go. There's so much to choose from and the plates are small, so you'll have a great variety of food. But be carefull, I always have a tendency to over-order. Be sure to order a pitcher of beer and you're bound to have a good time.
Japanese small plates with beer – This place serves Japanese small plates that the Japanese people normally eat with beer. Try the eggplant in meat sauce and the jidori chicken (small pieces of fried chicken). One special item is the fried fish cake ball filled with cheese - it is amazing, especially when hot. Go early, the line gets long on a Friday and Saturday night.
TRUE Japanese fare! – If you're seeking an authentic 'izakaya' (pub) experience, this is the place! Very reasonably priced, you can sample many of its small dishes-- the teba saki is a MUST. Also fabulous is the scallop and enoki mushrooms. The chu-hi drinks are really sweet, and not really worth the price tag. I'd recommend sticking with beer, which is cheap. This is a great place to take a group of friends, as you'll create a graveyard of little plates and empty beer glasses on the table... and leave scheudling your return... read more
japanese style tapas – First order of business, teba saki -those crispy, sweet, spicy, salty chicken wings, heaven and addictive. the dinner menu has a bunch of small plates of food, perfect for sharing --tapas style. All of the veggies are wonderfully flavorful: mushrooms, eggplant, spinach, garlic sprouts..., the sake grilled chicken was moist and delicious, the beef stuffed pepper, squid. Great stuff.
JFC-Japanese Fried Chicken – Get the Japanese fried chicken lunch special. Great value and tasty chicken (come with steamed rice and a salad). At night, there are many small dishes that go great with some Sapporo.
