My son has been going to FUNctional Kids for OT and WOW, what a difference it has made. It started with me noticing his low muscle tone, and not being able to perform small tasks that he should be able to at his age. Within minutes of walking into "Miss. Rea's", as he calls her, she noticed exactly what I was seeing. She also answered many questions that I had been asking doctors and specialist for years. Maria has been AMAZING to work with.
RecommendedMy child with sensory processing dsyfunction has been seeing Maria for about a year. From the moment he was assessed, I felt so much releif - knowing I had met a professional who "gets" my kid. Using various therapies, meltdowns are a things of the past and my 5 year old is kindergarten ready! Maria is even willing to work with school therapists and help create IEP goals to support your child's academic success!
My son has been going here for several months now and has made so much progress. He does speech and occupational therapy. Both therapist are absolutely amazing. They have not only taught my son so much and helped his progression but they have also taught me and given me tools to be able to help him myself. My son has been seeing Maria for OT on and off since he was about 1. We are so grateful for functional kids and all of his growth we have seen. Greta we started seeing in May for speech and we could not be happier. She didn't dismiss our wish for AAC like other SLPs and started teaching it to him from day 1. We now have our own device and he finally has his voice at age 5 1/2. Thank you functional kids for never underestimating our Bubby!!

We love Miss Maria. OT is no longer needed but my son loves her so much that we continue once a month because he would miss her too much!
I have no idea what we would do without Maria. I love her whole body approach. My kids thrive when they are in OT.
