My son has been seeing Ms. Maria, in a cyclical approach, since he was 3ish. With his many early diagnoses, we weren’t sure what level of functional abilities he could achieve. I love it here, it has helped my children so much, has a wonderful staff.
My daughter has been with Miss Maria since she was 9months old. she wasn't meeting basic milestones and her neurologist and pediatrician seriously questioned if she would ever walk. Miss Maria worked with her steadily and by 2 she was walking with the assistance of AFOs by 3 she was walking unassisted. At 7 shes a competitive dancer. I sincerely believe without Maria and her dedication my child would NOT be where she is today.
I love working with the Functional Kids clients and staff. It is the most client centered workplace I have worked at. I enjoy coming to work everyday.
This place is so amazing and is what we miss the most since moving away! Ms Maria was so so in tune with my son (severe nonverbal autism and sensory processing disorder) and we still use the techniques she taught us for calming down and coping with too much stimulation. Within 20 minutes of our first appointment Ms Maria was telling me things about my son that I had been struggling to understand for 2 years.
