I had “same day surgery”. Arrived at 9 AM and finished about 4:30. Long day with several waiting rooms but it was well worth it. I had complete confidence in Dr French.
I don't mind driving an hour from Fayetteville to Carolina Eye to have Dr. French treat me. He was highly recommended by a fellow dentist who no longer needs glasses. I had a thorough examination and Dr. French discussed the available options. I had IV sedation and don't remember the actual surgery to remove the cataract and new lens placement. My whole experience with cataract surgery was remarkable. Al caregivers were very professional, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly. Dr French did an incredible job of keeping me informed and especially of performing cataract surgery with astigmatism complications to perfection giving me perfect vision in both eyes. all follow up visits confirmed the successful surgery. Thank you Dr. French and associates.

Dr. French spends as much time as needed with each patient, explains his decisions/recommendations fully, and is very friendly and personable. He is extremely competent and experienced. I would recommend him to anyone needing eye surgery.

Other than having to wait 4 hours for my operation, I was very happy with the outcome.
When I first saw Dr French in 04/2018 I could only see shadows with my right eye. I had a very bad eye ulcer that had taken about 4 months to heal. I had been told by doctors at Duke that I would need 3 to 4 surgeries and it would take 5 to 6 years to heal. I asked for a referral to somewhere other than Duke as I just was not satisfied there. I was referred to Dr French. After his staff completed many test he said I needed 3 surgeries but he thought they could be done all at one time with the healing complete in about 2 year... read more
