The name of this restaurant has nothing to do with actual people named Frankie or Johnnie, in fact the words are old passwords between revelers and managers during Prohibition. 'Frankie' was used at the door, and if the reply was 'Johnnie', the drinking could start. The steak was good, not impressed with the pasta or potato pancakes.

It was a special occasion, our 20th Wedding Anniversary. Food, Staff, Ambiance and Music were all excellent. Highly recommended!

Great personal service and intimate. Very good cocktails and wine. I recommend cocktail: mid-town Manhatten. We actually came late at near closing time but they still gave us a table and attentive service.
