The name of this restaurant has nothing to do with actual people named Frankie or Johnnie, in fact the words are old passwords between revelers and managers during Prohibition. 'Frankie' was used at the door, and if the reply was 'Johnnie', the drinking could start. 😀Food was great. One of the best steaks I have ever had. We had the porterhouse for two. It was perfectly cooked and had a great meaty flavor. The wild mushroom sause was fantastic as well. Along with that I had a glass of Bonanza Cab and it was delightful. Highly recommend.
RecommendedMy wife and I had a wonderful 25th anniversary dinner this evening which was made very special by Sal and his crew who were attentive and so very thoughtful. Our thanks for a wonderful evening and we will certainly be returning in the future.
Happened upon this gem with the help of Siri. Not going to leave a long detailed course by course review. Everything was awesome, the service was incredible (thank you Spiro). Owner Gus was very hospitable and made us feel like a part of his family. Highly recommended if you get a chance to eat here, Do not hesitate!!! PS; Key lime pie was top three best I’ve ever had!!! 10 years in Key West and you’ve one or two pieces! Thank you for the great meal!
service was very slow. food came our and sat on tray, finally served was lukewarm.
