Full honesty: I don't recommend Frank Darling for a thoughtful custom engagement ring. We worked with their Austin studio for about 3.5 months (a normal process is supposed to take 6-8 weeks) and ultimately walked away to finish our ring elsewhere, only 3 weeks from our deadline with nothing but incomplete sketches to show for it. My now fiance and I were so excited for our appointment with Frank darling back in January as it was our first time ring shopping and the reviews were so positive! Unfortunately, it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences we’ve had. We mixed up the time and got there 20 minutes early, and we were immediately made to feel awful about it. We had the best experience working with Micah at Frank Darling! He helped us design my custom engagement ring and was warm, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely so kind throughout the entire process. He made everything feel easy and never made us feel rushed. The ring turned out even better than we imagined, and we’re so grateful for all of Micah’s help. If you’re thinking about designing a custom ring, we can’t recommend him enough!

I came in a while back with my Fiance and worked with Anna. She was very patient and was able to explain diamond terms in a way that was easier to understand. She even explained ways to do the design we wanted without going over our budget. I was pleasantly surprised by this experience. The other places we went to felt so rushed and we felt too pressured. Anna seemed to care more about making the ring perfect than she did about making money off of us.
