I went in to get an estimate for a crown replacement this past Friday and the front office told me it could be between $600-$1,400 depending on what is needed based on the exam, crown versus core buildup etc (my dentist charges $1,000 for the crown and $175 for core buildup, but was out of town Friday) so I figured at worst $225 more to get it taken care of that day at the high end but after paying $88 for the exam I'm then quoted $1,695 which is nearly $300 more than I was told prior to deciding to move forward with the exam which added an additional $88 and was just way to high.
Had I been told the high end was $1,695 I would've never even done the exam to begin with so I'm requesting y'all please do me the courtesy of refunding the $88 please since I feel I was misinformed and would not have done the exam had I been told the correct potential pricing.

I went to Forest Family Dental on Gattis School Road in Round Rock for a chipped tooth because although they seem a little more expensive than other dentists, the quality of the work they had done previously was very good. This time I had multiple problems:
1. The dental work they proposed seemed very expensive: $1750 for a crown to fix one chipped tooth.
2. When I asked for a less expensive alternative, they were reluctant to offer anything. Instead, they offered a more expensive alternative. That wasn’t helping me.
3. I asked again about other less expensive alternatives, such as pulling the tooth. The dentist said he didn’t feel comfortable pulling the tooth because it was near a nerve. A dentist not comfortable pulling a tooth? I could understand if it was a wisdom tooth, but this wasn’t. Is it a training issue?
4. As I was paying my bill for the appointment, he said I had a $15 credit. They had never returned the money my wife had overpaid when she had work done over a year ago. Evidently, they decided it was OK to keep it instead of return it. On the good side, since I had paid for an appointment, the dentist did spend a couple of minutes and smoothed off the chipped tooth. I’m retired, so I don’t have dental insurance. I’m on a fixed income. I don’t want to spend $1750 to fix one tooth. I can only hope Biden gets elected in a few weeks and decides to enhance Medicare to include dental insurance.

There are always alternatives, and those prices (I set them based on fairhealthconsumer.org 70% rate) are much higher than normal. I can't recommend this place enough. Last year I had some pretty heavy dental work done, and it really messed up my bite for a good while ( Not here ) . I found this place really through word of mouth, and decided to look and give it a try. I've been seeing Dr Hughes and he's been great, super thorough and just really seems to care about making me feel better, and not empty my pockets at the same time. Thank you FFD for helping me feel a bit more normal again!

Yesterday was my first visit here after a few terrible experiences at other dental offices. I was so pleased! The staff was amazing! They were all friendly, the office was clean, and they have all the modern conveniences to make visits more comfortable. It was probably the best experience I have ever had at a dental office. My entire family and I will be going here from now on!

I had my first cleaning and had my retainers checked at Forest Family Dentistry & Orthodontics today. It was a pleasant experience from the big welcome by JoDie at the front desk to my checkout. Trinity was my hygienist and she is a wealth of knowledge about dental hygiene and taught me things I did not even know. Plus she did a great job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Darnell was the dentist I saw and she was just as great! Personable and helpful! I needed to replace one of my retainers and she gave me 3 options and explained each one thoroughly. I highly recommend the dental practice for your dental and orthodontic needs!

I can't say enough good things about this office, the dentists and their staff. My family has not been patients for very long but every time we have gone in, the staff is friendly, always with a smile on everyone's face, as well as the dentists. My father was a dentist and orthodontist for my entire life, so I grew up in a dental office, always feeling comfortable in any medical setting. However, when he passed away in 2015, I didnt know how I would cope with someone else working on/in my mouth and I didnt know how my kids would handle it either. From our first appointments, we felt at ease right away, with their friendly deposition as well as their knowledge of all things dental. I knew we were at the right place. All their equipment is modern, keeping up with the latest and best dental trends which allow them to work efficiently, top notch work at a faster pace because the technology cuts a lot of unnecessary steps out, like a dozen xrays during a root canal. Just left the office, where they completed a root canal, crown prep and a filling I less than 2hrs, which is great timing. The root canal procedure was basically painless. The dentist was very kind and professional. The assistants are incredibly knowledgeable and caring. I know with my background, many potential patients might think it's just easier for me to get work done because I'm comfortable with that environment. However, it was a huge adjustment to trust someone else with my teeth/mouth and took me a few years after my father passed away, to even consider letting another person work on my mouth but I could not be happier with choosing this dental group. Furthermore, their prices are reasonable, compared to other dental offices! The work I had completed today was cheaper than what my dad's office would have charged. I was pleasantly surprised! This is the best way I can think of, to thank them for taking such great care of me and my kids. Highly recommend this dental group!

My son has been in to have 2 teeth fixed, and love them so much that he asked to change dentists. Coming from an 11 year old, that says a lot. so, I switched to them myself. I had a filling done there this evening. they took their time and made sure everything was perfect. I think this is the first filling that I won't have to have adjusted. Thank you SO much!

After seeing two other orthodontists, I was told that I had to get traditional braces for at least 2.5 years. Dr. Bethell was going to be my third & last ortho opinion. I knew he specialized in Invisalign, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to see him. After a consult with him and his fabulous staff, I am now on my first set of Invisalign trays!!! I’m SO excited! Dr. Bethell has been thorough and professional and his staff is impeccable. So far, I’ve been extremely happy and I can’t wait to see the end results!
