This is a very no frills hotel. There is no business center, only 1 computer for emails (and no wireless), the furniture was just a bit worn, and there no refridgerators in the rooms. However, the room (and the rest of the hotel) was absolutely spotless and remained so throughout our stay. I've seen hotels at 3 times the price...
We stayed at this great hotel enroute to the Black Hills. It couldn't have been a more perfect intro to SD - spotless room, quiet surroundings despite being on the main road, very comfy bed, good breakfast, free internet on the lobby computer, and especially the VERY accommodating and friendly folks who work there. They gave us great suggestions
I stayed in Rapid CIty in the summer at rates of over $150 a night and while this is the off season - the rate of $30 a night for two queen beds. well how can you go wrong. The hotel was conveniently located, it was CLEAN, the room was nice, the breakfast was limited but satisfying.
We stayed at Foothills Inn for 2 nights and couldn't believe the quality of the hotel - esp. for the price! The location is great - just off the freeway and convenient to the airport. We are spending a week in the Black Hills and needed a place to stay and a base for our daily excursions. The staff have been friendly and helpful. Laura and Karen in particular have been very hospitable, but all the staff have been friendly and cooperative. The motel is convenient to restaurants and a super Wal Mart.
We spent two nights at the Foothills Inn (7 & 8 Aug). We arrived in the evening and had no problems with check-in. It was during the last few days of the Sturgis Bike Rally. As you can imagine all of the prices of lodging goes up accordingly. Compared to the other hotels in the area, the prices were great....
We booked this hotel for two nights through a website and ended up extending our stay another night, which required moving to another room, from a king to two queens. The staff was just wonderful. We especially liked the evening desk clerk, James, who gave us plenty of help with local events and eateries, sights, driving tours, hotel information, etc....
What a gem of a Hotel. The rooms were impeccably clean, (you could eat off the floor if you insisted) spacious and nicely decorated. I especially enjoyed the Lazy Boy after a long day on the road. The Staff was super friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel
