Great atmosphere, interesting fusion of Chinese food and pizza. And I came all the way out from the Northeast to make a stop here during my Knoxville Nationals holiday.
We always go to Fong's when in town--(we live 4 hours away) We even adjust our vacations or trips to Iowa so we can stop in. Always great food. In 5 years never a bad meal and they are always bringing out new items. (love the honey and garlic!!)
Unlike most reviews, I thought the service was actually great. The pizza left things to be desired, I would say it's meh, at best. I love the beer selection, but that can be said of most places in this town.

Highly recommend the crab rangoon and the crab rangoon pizza!
Crab Rangoon pizza was delicious. Very unique and fun.
Best pizza! The crab Rangoon is amazing! Awesome drinks!!! It's a must every summer when we visit Des Moines
Very unique menu. You better be come in with a willingness to try new things. It's all tasty though. Personal pizzas are small enough for a single person to eat, but big enough that you can order several and share so everyone can try a little of each. Only criticism was that the cocktails we had were a little dull. Also, the toppings could have been spread out around the pizza a bit more. Everything was very concentrated right in the center. If I could give half stars, I'd give a 4 and 1/2.

We have made a tradition of stopping at Fong's whenever we travel from Michigan to Colorado. It's really a great little place in fact we want to spend the weekend in Des Moines just so we can party there all night in hopes that neighboring pubs will be as appealing. Thanks Fong's
We visited the dwn town dsm location &I won't go back,but sometime I'll give the Ankeny location a try!
