Worst Food Ever – My Husband and I were visting the San Francisco area for the first time so we were very excited to find a little diner to have a nice dinner. When we walked in it was not the old little dinner we know. It felt a little odd the people sitting in the place were kind of stuck up and not friendly. The service was fake and not friendly. When we were handed the menu we looked at it and did not what to order, the food was stuff that we would never eat. My husband got the roast and he said that it had to flovor and... read more

fun diner – I love the movie "So I Married an Axe Murderer" and so had to visit this place. Even with reservations, we had to wait about 20 minutes, but there were some groups who hadn't and were furious that they might have to wait an hour. The asiago truffle fries were good, though it is a little hard to pay $10 for french fries.

Honest, Fun and Great Staff!!! – First of all, if you don't want a freaking tiny booth, which by the way they aren't tiny, then be smart enough to call in ahead of time and make reservations!!! Idiots!!! I've been there plenty of times and the couple with "pink hair and tatoos" are obviously not restaurant people! All the staff that work there are super nice and great! Except for the GM! That's a whole other story! Guests who write these outragous B.S. have some serious issues! I've seen some guests from the moment that they... read more

My husband and I went to the Diner to have a light dinner, as we love to do. Our waiter was one with whom we'd had several times before, always accomodating and very pleasant. As we began to delve into our delicious small plates,;in walks this tacky couple, complete with tattoos and "shocking" pink hair (how 80's! stop living in the past!), they looked like they were trying to make some kind of fashion statement helplessly lost between Oingo Boingo! I watched as the server tried to take their order, with much patience, as sh... read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! – My boyfriend and I decided to dine here because it seemed unpretentious and homey for the Financial District. The minute the hostess set eyes on us (me with shocking pink hair) and my boyfriend (with neck tattoos and lip piercings) she decided to seat us in the tiniest table at the far end of the restaurant, when there were MANY MANY tables near the front. Thats not all...She sat us next to a huge dinner party! I could barely hear myself think! And when we didnt order $6 bottles of Stella the waiter H... read more

Are you kidding me? – First, the positives. Most of the food was good. The spicy prawns were average. The service, in the beginning was good. However, like previous postings regarding fog city diner, the service quickly became slow and non existant when our table of 8 only ordered appetizers and lower priced meals. The one larger meal was okay (chicken). I asked for a refill on a severn up, and the snooty waitress said, we do not give free refills. I guess I appeared to her that I could not afford a refill? I then told her y... read more

Snotty service with average food – If you're want overpriced food with snotty service/waiter, this is the place to go! My girlfriend and I went in to have something light to eat at 9.30pm. Not feeling very hungry since we've already had dinner, we ended up ordering 5 apetizers between 2 of us. From then on the waiter became ice cold and acted like he was doing us a favor. Not even bothering to look at us and finally tossing the check tray when we requested it. It's not like we came in only ordering one coffee and a slice of ... read more

Plesantly surprised – I was a skeptic prior to coming here - there was so much hype around this tourist attraction that I assumed it would fall short of expectation - however, i was very pleasantly surprised. Definitely the most luxurious diner i've ever been to - and the dishes were creative while maintaining their American roots. The jalepeno cornbread with pepper jelly was fantastic as was the monte cristo. Of course, it's a little pricey, but well worth it as a treat.

SF Classic Reborn Again! – Like many of you, i had chalked the Fog City up to being solely for tourists and "diner food". So untrue. With the rising new star chef, David Seawell (formerly of Boulevard) at the helm, the food at Fog City has gone "comfort cuisine". Chef Seawell blends classic american with ecclectic influences to make a simply sublime menu. The sea bass with crab hollondaise and garlic noodles is mouth watering and he puts his own unique twist on salads.. for example, the Tijuana caesar with creamy dressing an... read more
