Billing Hell - FALSE Advertisers Our insurance covers "Urgent Care" visits. We were visiting Lawrence when my wife got sick. We looked up "Urgent Care" places and chose this facility. Later, we received a bill from them for the visit. When asked why they didn't bill our insurance, they said, "We bill as a family Doctor, not an Urgent Care..." and "Your visit was treated as a walk-in for the family practice..." UGH! Why do they advertise as an urgent care facility if they don't intend to follow the industry standards as one? ... read more

Very nice staff I came in with a sprained ankle, walk in and was totally finished within 2 hours. Very kind, caring staff. I got right in. Office is very clean and up-to-date.

DR.Ramberg I have a very high opinion of Dr. Ramberg. I took my boyfriend to see him when 2 other doctors did not find out what was wrong. He walked into the exam room an saw the problem immediately. He was bleeding internally and Dr. Ramberg sent him straight to the ER at the hospital. HE SAVED HIS LIVE! Thank God for Dr.Ramberg!

BAD SERVICE after several years of having NO faith in these Dr.s I thought I'd try them again. It was a terrible experience and I was charged several hundred dollars to have a wart removed. the Dr. spent his time with me talking about his family and their wonderful aspirations. By the time their suggested specialist contacted me I'd already been hospitalized, treated and released by a real dr. in Kansas City. For weeks following I was contacted by this specialists office to send a good review of their practice, which I NEVER... read more

Quick response, helpful doctor, cost effective I went to this clinic on a Saturday because of a severe case of gastroenteritus and my regular doctor's office is closed that day. The staff was quick to get me in even though there were a lot of other walk-ins especially for a Saturday. The doctor was friendly and prompt and went over all my symptoms and gave me some suggestions for treatment. He weighed several options with me and made sure that I understood each one. He also said that he is not one to suggest expensive treatm... read more

patients The receptionist is rude...there's no reason to keep people from knowing where they stand. There were four people in the waiting room and after two hours of waiting without any word...we're still here. If you hold contempt towards people that get sudden illness on the weekend, quit accepting walk-ins or hire a staff that doesn't resent walk-ins. Nobody wants to be here...no need to make the experience worse.

Worst place in all of Lawrence Terrible clinic. Terrible service. Dr. Ramberg is the worst, but no one there really cares too much about the patients. They are more concerned with pushing drugs than anything else. If you are a female, they tend to always think your problems are mental. After having a female wellness exam there by Nancy (supposedly their female expert), I went home and looked up some info after not agreeing with what she said, only to find out that she was COMPLETELY wrong. When I told them via phone (after I... read more

Exactly what was needed It's walk-in health care. You don't have to wait 60 days. You don't have to get on some list. You walk in. They do what they do. I have been to First Med several times and I have seen several doctors. They are all knowledgeable and experienced. They do not try to BS you. They are not going to cure your massively complicated disease. They are not going to perform office surgery on you. It is walk-in health care. Anybody who complains would probably complain no matter what.

Very Thorough I have been going to First Med for a year now, which means I have been there about 4-6 times. Each time has been a pleasant and almost easy experience. Even when I have had to "walk-in" I have not had to wait long in the waiting room or back in the room for the doc. For my last visit, I was 45 minutes late for my appointment and they got me right in. I have seen 4 different doctors and Dr. Dunlap is by far the best. He is very thorough. He is not in a hurry to get out the door and is willing to listen to your s... read more
