fhn. we're here....just kidding we dont give a crap about you (especially if it is important).
I would never recommend setting foot in this hospital unless it is life or death. Takes a lot of nerve to call someone and tell them they aren't making enough payments and threaten collection. I could see if a person made no effort to pay their bill.
Billing here is incredibly shady. We have had many...many "coding errors" that would have resulted in thousands of dollars in over charges had we not fought it. We just discovered they also charge hundreds of dollars for children's vaccinations that you can get through the county for $20. This is supposed to be a not for profit but charging $640 for a shot that can be obtained for $20 elsewhere does not seem to to fit that mold. That is a 3200% increase over the county. I know the county is subsidized but the CDC says the sh... read more
Mark Gridley Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Care Services stated, “there is no conclusive evidence that staffing ratios improve quality or patient outcomes”. This gentleman is obviously out of touch with reality and has never worked one day on the floor. Of course staffing ratio improves patient care, patient satisfaction, quality care, and is proven to decrease patient death. Get with the program!
This is a direct quote from this hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer and VP of Patient Care Services: “there is no conclusive evidence that staffing ratios improve quality or patient outcomes” This hospital’s CEO and CNO PUBLICLY oppose the proposed Safe Patient Limits Act, which is currently going through the legislative process in Illinois. I have conclusive evidence: I worked in a hospital where a nurse had 7 patients. By the time she made it to the 7th patient, after assessing and checking in on her other 6 patients, the 7t... read more
I went for a check up after surgery & the nurse practitioner was very rude. She didn't care what I had to say or even how I felt. When I would try to explain things, she had a look on her face that you could tell she didn't want to be there.
It’s only because of the persistence & perseverance of Dr. Schleich, Dr. Barnes & Dr. Mehta that my stage 3 ovarian cancer was found at the age of 29. From onset of concerning symptoms until diagnosis was 4 months, which is amazing due to the very vague symptom I was having. Once I started chemo treatment, Dr. Shaikh also provided top notch care. Other honorable mention doctors throughout my rough care include Dr. Kalnins, Dr. Parks, Cassie Reed & Tami Lasala. I fully trust FHN with my care! Thank you!
If my primary physician wasn't so great and local and covered by my insurance, I would never use FHN. I would much rather take an ambulance to a hospital farther away - even in a life and death situation. The billing department is rude, unprofessional, incredibly slow, and harassing. I had procedures and appointments done in January and early Feb. My insurance processed in April - which I received EOBs for and it took FHN an additional 7 months to send a bill. Not to mention - the calls of "your payment doesn't meet our mini... read more
