Doesn't even deserve a 1 star. My intake was done by a medical student Kevin, if only he were the doctor. He was patient and kind and very interested in my history and my symptoms. He explained to me that he would explain this all to the endocrinologist. At the exit of the room the doctor was on the other side of the door and I overheard Kevin utter a sentence that was interrupted by the doctor so he got nothing of what was going on with me. Dr. Melarango is a knowledgeable and compassionate physician. He listens and works with you as a patient to help you be healthier. He has helped both my husband and me to reach, and now maintain, our health goals! Thanks for staying in Erie :)
I wish it were an option to add less of a star than one. I had been having issues with hormone imbalance when seeing him. After taking all the labs he had requested, he told me he didn’t need to look at the results to know I was there because of my weight. He tried prescribing medication that would have increased my already high risk of Type 1, and told me I obviously wanted to lose weight to be happier. I love, Love, LOVE Dr Melaragno, he is the best Endocrinologist in Northern PA. His bed side manor is amazing, he does not sugar coat anything, if you screw up your diet, he will tell you...I love that in a doctor, I don't lie to myself and don't want a doctor that does either. He has helped me to lose 135.5 pounds in 19 months even with pre-diabetes, hypo-thyroid, hyper-parathyroid, hypercalemia, menopause and being in a wheelchair.
