Don't believe the hype – Honestly, I have been hearing about this burger for too long not to be a LITTLE disappointed. Too much hype can take the life out anything (remember Titanic?) but to be honest, I thought the burger was just? okay. The boyfriend and I have been dying to check it out and Sunday we finally did. So the sweet potato fries are great, but then how do you screw up a sweet potato fry? The regular fries were a little greasy for my taste, and the whole no ketchup thing is a tough pill to swallow. As for the bur... read more

What Happened to the Burger!? – For me, the biggest draw of Father's Office has always been the burger. The beef was so good, you didn't think twice about spending nine bucks on a hamburger. But on a recent trip, I discovered that they were using a lower quality beef and trying to pass it off as the same burger. I thought that there was something wrong with my particular burger but the people I was with agreed that something was not right with the meat. I'm hoping there was a temporary shortage in their regular beef and I'll... read more

Beer selection is the best I've found in SoCal... – And, believe me, I've been looking! The MAJOR strength of this bar is the fact that they, unlike so many bars in SoCal, realize that some of the best beers are found right here on the West Coast. They offer many different choices of beer from Oregon AND California. It's great. People write reviews about this place where they go ON AND ON about the Belgian beers that they have as well, those people need to try something a little more local, and they won't be disappointed. I?... read more

The sweet potato fries are the best!!! – This place is small and finding a table is challenging, but the burger and the sweet potato fries are the best. Both together cost $17.50. The fries are served with a yummy dipping sauce.

Heavenly – Holy cow!! When a burger is this good I am a woman of very few words. Just went there for the first time and I absolutely loved, loved, loved, the food! Beers on tap are unique and fun if you like trying new beers, I went for the recommendation and was very pleased. Its small, the wait can be a little annoying but sooooooo worth it!! And we did get our food really fast so it all works out.

Busy Pub with Good Food – My boyfriend raves about this place. He always talked about taking me here. He finally had his chance last night. At first I was a little apprehensive about The Father's Office after reading the reviews. When we arrive all tables were packed so we stood and drank our first beer. I was dismayed at the sight of one guy literally standing inches from an occupied table. Once the occupant got up not even 10 seconds went by that he claimed the table, and while the occupant's partner was still sitting! Aft... read more

Great Neighborhood Pub – So this has been my 4th time at Father's Office and I always recommend it to my friends to come. So last night I brought my boyfriend in. And he agreed at me at the end that the beer burgers and fries are really good. As mentioned by many reviews, it is definitely not the place for the impatient. Depending on what time you get there, you are most certainly guaranteed to have to wait for a table. But once ya got your space you're set for some good eats and good drinks. You may get lucky if ya get ther... read more

Father's Cubicle – I visited for the first time about 3 weeks ago and I was quite unimpressed despite its high rating and reviews. Limited seating, crowded, and loud pretty much summarizes the ambiance. The infamous Father's Office burger is not what it's all hyped up to be--dry and virtually tasteless. A few things I did enjoy were the sweet potato fries served in a charming mini grocery cart and the company of friendly people. Perhaps they were only friendly to us so we would give them our seating once we left. Overall, my... read more

Can't think of a burger I would not prefer – I love burgers, but not from Father's Office. $11? I'd rather have one from McDonald's. I ordered it medium, and it was burned. The gunk they put on top is slimy. Condiments--non-existent. It was so dry, I had to drink my beer to moisten my mouth. They have a pretty good selection of beer, and good sweet potato fries, but you get only an average size portion for $6.50. I definitely recommend The Counter over this place.
