Great for beer geeks – I have been three times, and while it does get jammed up - the beer selection is outstanding and the food is great. I found the staff to be cool and knows their beer (just try asking someone at the YardHouse about their beer!). All the folks bagging on the burgers are just trolls; It is damn good and worth the drive. Get their before the rush, however - too many kids come in to "be seen" - which makes little sense given what a non-hip place it is. Just go and sit at the bar and enjoy the outstanding be... read more

A dissapointing burger, IMHO. – I'll make this short and sweet. This trendy place is totally overrated. The burger, which is what they're known for, was a undercooked mushy deal with field greens instead of lettuce. Don't ask for it any way except for the way they make it. I can think of several restaurants that have a superior burger (The Shack, Outlaw, In N Out, Tommys, etc), so don't believe the hype. On the plus side, their beer selection is extensive and the menu is creative.

Lay off the liquid smoke! – Went for that "famous" burger that I heard friends rave about. These people drove 50 miles for a burger, I figured it was worth my time to try it one day when I found myself in Santa Monica. It was served simply, but looked tasty. Not $12 tasty! But it had potential. It's served on a baquette with lettuce. I guess there was also some blue cheese, but I didn't taste much of it. What I did taste was the liquid smoke that they use on the meat. It's all I could really taste The flavor still grosses me... read more

Classless!!! – Father's Office is a bar, but they try to make it like it's a hip club? The doors guys need a lesson on being courteous to "customers!" as well as the rest of the staff! Burgers are good, but they better be if someone's going to fork out $12 bucks. Not sure "why" you have to be 21? If you go to the Yard House or Gordon's or any other place that serve alcohol it's not necessary? Oh....that's right...they want to be recognized as a "bar" and have lines outside to make people think it's all that. If you want to d... read more

People who complain about the wait – Let's get one thing straight about Father's Office: IT"S A BAR!!!!!!!!!! Have you been to a bar, complainers? BAR'S DON'T SIT PEOPLE OR TAKE RESERVATIONS. To be more clear: I'm sure most of you have waited in a line to get into a bar, then waited when you're inside said bar to order something, waited for a place to sit if the bar is crowded, then waited for your order to arrive. This is the same at Father's Office. Yes, it happens to serve a burger and other food items that are pretty inc... read more

Where heaven is served on a bun and in a pint glass. – First things first. This isn't the kind of bar where you can just waltz in at any hour of the night and expect fast service and no crowd. No, this is L.A. County's landmark gastropub (tiny as it is) where foodies, beer connoisseurs (and sometimes smug scenesters) from near and far wait in ridiculously long lines in hopes of getting a spot at one of the tables crammed inside. The plain hardwood walls and tile floors make the place as loud as a high school cafeteria, even ... read more

Too crowded, bad service & got sick on the food – I do not recommend this place. I went there last night with my boyfriend to get a burger. The place is really small and too crowded. We got there at 7:30p and had to wait outside in line for someone to leave before we could go in. Then we had to stand around at a crowded bar waiting for a table. People were hovering everywhere waiting for someone to leave in order ot get a seat. We got lucky and got a seat at the bar. Then we waited another hour for $12 burgers, which weren't... read more

Not a great place to meet folks... – Not recommended for anyone who is meeting friends or family there since they have a strict occupancy policy of no more than 140 people at one time. I arrived and easily found 2 bar stools at the bar; however, my date who arrived 10 minutes later was forced to wait outside until other people left which took about 15 minutes.... both of us waiting separately. Meanwhile the bar/restaurant was not full! I talked to the manager and recommended that they let people know about this rule when the... read more

DON'T BOTHER – These burgers are sooooo overrated. These burgers are truly nothing special. There not awful but it's just not that great of a burger. We call them Yuppie Burgers because thats all you see at Fathers Office is a bunch of pretentious yups. It's more like a salsbury steak sandwhich than a real hamburger. Do yourself a big favor and dont waste your time on Fathers Office. If you want a truly good burger then go to The Apple Pan, Astro Burger, The Counter(for a more gourmet burger), or Fat Burger. Good luck.
