By Far the Best Burger – To anyone who disagrees that Father's Office is undeniably one of the best burgers anywhere - they don't have a clue what a burger is. Now granted, there are no substitutions or special requests and that for some diners can be a little challenging, but who needs to screw with perfection. The have a very good selection of beer and wine, although i rarely drink. I typically just have a Bubble Up soda in a glass bottle- totally classic! The greatest challenge is finding a place to sit - Also, they aren'... read more
It's okay... – It's all been said here: the beer selection rewards more sophisticated swillers and the burgers (in the one variety they offer) are terrific. Bar staff can be inattentive or just straight up rude (the last time we were there the only person taking orders was having difficulty juggling her job with an apparently vigorous text message debate). It's also often noisy and you need to arrive close to opening hours (or before) to get a table... this has improved somewhat since the Fire Department cracked down on them... read more
Some people just don't understand – Father's Office is not for everyone. For example, some people like good food and are willing to trust those who have been trained to prepare it well. Also, seeing as how their beer is actually interesting and well-selected (and therefore does not come by the yard), I'm sure some people would be opposed to the "small portions. " I prefer the Culver City location because it is larger, but the beer (Orval?--c'mon, it's heaven on earth) and food are wonderful. If you prefer yard long beers and... read more
OMG THE BURGERS!!! – The burgers are killer as are the fries. The only bad aspect is that there is usually no place sit, but the food is so good just go outside and sit on the curb.
This place is the WORST, and OVERRATED. – Now please stay the F away. And spread the word of how horrible it is. Worst burger ever, and longest lines, rudest staff, horrible beers on draft. You are pretty much a retard if you believe the hype on this spot. No ketchup people!?!? are you serious? how can any self-respecting burger bar not serve ketchup?!?! OMG!
No Ketchup at a place known for burgers and fries? WTF??? Different is not always Better. – Let's make this simple: 1) no ketchup, and nothing similar. Only sauce is garlic aoli. Wtf? It's a simple concept, order f*ing ketchup for your burger joint! 2) Bacon not optional: the bacon is mixed in the meat of the burger, so you can't get it w/o bacon. Basically any non-pork eaters, don't go. 3) Service is AWFUL. Don't even try to make one substitution or change. During my particular experience, we ordered 2 burgers and asked for... read more
Bahs – I loved the place but hated te people. its full of typical LA scensters. Who needs that? Not it.!!
Amazing & different Burger – Fathers Office has the best burger in Santa Monica! My friends also enjoy the large beer selection and I appreciate that they carry a few wines since I don't drink beer. Be patient when you go as it's a good crowd but always a crowd. You have to keep your eyes peeled and be quick to grab a table as the staff doesn't help seat you. It's worth the wait when you have the time and the shopping cart of the sweet potato fries is the way to go over the regular fries.
Really? – 40min wait in line, 30min wait to get a seat, 20min wait to get a beer and another 20mins to pay for the bill. What do you people see in this place? The food wasn't all that great as well. I don't see the appeal here... definitely not worth it.
