Took my cat in to see why he was grinding his teeth. Dr. Sutphen immediately diagnosed him as having one poor tooth that should be extracted. So they extracted his tooth back in April and he is still grinding his teeth. When I told them about this, they just kept putting him on more pain meds and antibiotics. My gut told me to get a 2nd opinion which I did and am so thankful for. I took him to a specialist who let me know that he has two fractured teeth and one that is abcessed. Jane, Although this is unfortunate for Tiger, you opted to only have the single infected tooth extracted without a full dental evaluation and cleaning, pre-anesthetic bloodwork, and IV fluids given, which we recommended during your visit with us. If we were to have performed the full dental evaluation and cleaning we would have found the other issues that Tiger was having. I love my Vet's office !!! Mac woke me at 4:00 am incessantly shaking his head/ears...... the ridiculous emergency vet prices came to mind and needless to say I was not so excited ......then I remembered our vet was open on Saturday. Waited in then parking lot for when they opened at 7am and they got us right in. Karl and I would have always recommended them before but now even more impressed with the awesome staff!!!! Thanks for getting us in and helping us to still enjoy our Saturday!
I've been bringing my 9 year old dog to them for about 2 years now. I just got a 6 week old puppy and I wouldn't bring him anywhere else. They gave me a whole puppy pack to take home with me, and set up my future appointments right there in the office. My 9 year old dog recently had an injury, where the emergncy vet sent him home with some pain pills but nothing seemed to change. I come from over an hour away to use Family Friends for canine reproductive services, have done so for years. Love this place and the wonderful staff.
Family Friends Vet is the best. The staff here is exceptional! Our primary vet was Dr. Yazvac (Dr. Johnson now) and I can't say enough kind words about her. She took care of our Payton with such love and Payton absolutely adored her! (Payton is our goldendoodle dog) Any time we needed an emergency appt they always got us in that day. (We were dealing with chronic ear infections which turned into allergies so we were there a lot.) I highly recommend this place.
