My wife & I stayed at The Plaza for our honeymoon. The hotel and attentive staff far exceeded our expectations!
The Plaza is a grand old lady and like all Fairmont is extremely welcoming, stately and comfortable. The staff are wonderful and the food is excellent. My favourite drink at the Champagne Bar is the Champagne Russian Mule.
We went for High Tea this last Saturday. Great atmosphere, service was ok. When had the Royal tea $298 for two with tip. The sandwiches were just ok, the pastries were absolutely horrible, dry stale and some tasted like perfume. The servings were really sparse for the money. The champagne was great, dry cold and they did fill the glass up so that was nice. We have been here a few times now and it seems the service and quality keeps going downhill every time we go. Went to Afternoon Tea today ( Sat. 6/2). BD gift from my daughter & son in law. Way beyond my expectations. Wonderful service, non stop elegance & an amazing experience. Also checked out Assouline bookstore & The Plaza Boutique ( gift shop) both excellent. The Plaza Hotel a true New York icon!
