Evangeline's is a fantastic restaurant. Elegant room, delicious food, very friendly and welcoming staff.
Food is first class. Service is nice. But my complaint about a table of loud, boorish people to the manager went unheeded. I complained that they were ruining a fine experience for everyone. A good manager would have spoken politely to the offensive table and asked them to tone it down. It ruined an otherwise exceptional experience for me. Is a fine, expensive place like this really saying that selfish, guffawing behavior is acceptable as long as someone is paying their bill? Great atmosphere and great food!!! The service was great...
Food was very good (Calamari was delicious), but not the best service. We had to wait a lot to get drinks, and it was annoying. However atmosphere is quite nice. I think this is the only fine dining restaurant in Tuscaloosa. I think I would go back regardless of the slow service, and give it another shot. Update: Manager contacted me to get my address, and sent me a lunch gift certificate for two. Had a date night and we ordered spinach fondue, lamb rack and duck. The food was excellent, the service was excellent. We will be back.
