Etta's Seafood

About this business

One of Tom Douglas' three booming restaurants, the other two being Dahlia Lounge and Palace Kitchen, this fashionable restaurant called Etta's Seafood is a popular place to relax after strolling through Pike Place Market. Dark wood, brightly colored walls and large windows accent the space offering a magnificent view of the Elliot Bay and is excellent for people watching. Outdoor dining is possible in the private courtyard if the weather is nice. Locals and tourists swarm here for seafood dishes such as fish-and-chips with r... read more

Douglas' Restaurants Marketing Miracles – Two of my sons have worked as cooks in this joint (it belongs to their Uncle Tom) , so all I can say is watch out for snot in your seafood! Horror tales abound! Seriously, Ettas and all of Tom Douglas' places represent a marketing miracle, because the food just ain't that great and ain't that cheap either. But, hey, give it a try! In all seriousness, the restrooms, a fixation for Tom, who is fastidious in regard to bathroom hygiene, are spotless. So relieve yourself with confidence!

So-So Seafood – We really WANTED to love this place, because we love the Dahlia Lounge, but this was in a lesser league entirely. Located near the Market, the restaurant has a dining area crowded around a bar. While not noisy or obnoxious, the bar atmosphere detracts from the ambience. On the plus side, the service was friendly and efficient. However, the food left a lot to be desired. Having lunched late, we were only mildly hungry, so made the mistake of ordering only the entrees, as they were were advertised as coming wit... read more

What a Lovely Way to Brunch on a Sunny Saturday – Wow! Had Brunch at Etta's for the first time and was very impressed. After a lovely stroll through the Market on a beautiful Saturday (the place was PACKED), we wound up at Etta's looking for sustenance and a good Bloody Mary. We had to sit at the bar as the place was very busy, but the service was still great... the corned beef hash was a study in YUM and the Bloody Marys were just what the doctor ordered. Can't wait to do it again this weekend!

Great Dessert...OK Dinner – On a recent vacation to Seattle we had the coconut cream pie for dinner. It was absolutely amazing! We even went back the next night just for dessert and drinks. We enjoyed this night better because we sat at the bar at the pantry so we could watch the food prep. We had the fried apple pie and it was shockingly good! The dinner the night before was okay. Service was fine but not great. Atmospher is okay. Just go for desserts!

Hope dinner is better – Came to Seattle for my wifes birthday. My son fly in from Nebraska. We wanted fresh seafood. Made reservations for lunch (3pm), but didn't need then. First sign, the place was fairly empty. We were disappointed at the small lunch menu. Second sign. I had the tuna and my wife and son had the crab cakes. The food was ok but nothing special. One crab cake and french fries for $19 or two cakes for $32. Very small portions for price. Third sign. Service was good. Atmosphere was like a high end diner. I exp... read more

Not one of Tom Douglas' best – I'm obsessed with Tom Douglas' restaurants. We frequent Lola's and Dahlia Lounge quite often! Considering how brilliant his other restaurants are I was anxious to try his Seafood restaurant. For my husband's birthday I made reservations at Etta's. Don't care for the location. Your view of the water is blocked by the Pike Place Market Park. It felt like a diner inside. And worst of all the food was simply okay. Nothing like the infusion of unique but perfectly Pacific Northwest flavors and atmos... read more

There is no better Brunch in Seattle – When we are in town, Etta's is the first stop on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The menu is broad. And everything is great. The hosts and servers are first class. Make a reservation.
