Gay/Lesbian club? Where?! – I want to say outright that the low rating isn't because The Escape is a bad place to be, by any means, just that it sets itself on a standard that it didn't meet for me. I thought going to the Escape was going to be a blast. Unfortunately that isn't what I experienced. About 75% of the people there seemed to be straight or bi chicks with their boyfriends. What a Hole in the Wall! – Okay... So i went here the other night... and OMG, talk about freakin kids that look and act so angry. lol.... I come from Houston where we know what true clubs are. Best dance floor in Portland – WOW! This place is really great. The music is mixed live by Dj Scooter and the dance floor is always hot. Between the strobe lights, the disco ball, and the only light up dance floor in Portland you'll never not have a good time. The Security is excelent keeping everything orderly and safe. A friendly atmosphere with shows that start about 1-2 in the morning, including drag queens and a very energized host. The escape is deffinatly the place to go on a Friday or Saturday night.
Straight or Gay, this is the place to get your groove on. – The Escape Nightclub is a good scene for GLBTQ and Straight teens to go, in fact, it is the best place in the Portland Metropolitan area to go dancing for the under 18 crowd. Fun for GLBTQ AND straight kids – I absolutely adore the Escape! The dancing is great, the people are fun, and while it could use a little renovation in the way of more space, I love the atmosphere. I have never had a bad time while I've been there, but you do have to be careful about when you go. Most Friday nights are sorta quiet, and since only a handful of people come, it's not as much of a good time. Saturdays are great, but the $10 cover is hard to manage sometimes. Saturday Nights Are Not Worth the Hipe But It Is The Only All-Ages LGBTSQ Spot – Saturday Nights: If one goes to the Escape after 11:45PM, one can forget about trying to find a parking place within three blocks of the club. During the summer, the club is open Friday from 10:30pm-3:00am or later, and Saturdays from 10:30pm-4:00am or later. Basically the best safe underage dance night club – I went there with nothing to expect but to have a good time. and thats exactly what I DID. I had a blast meeting new people and dancing. I use to go ot the underage club the Zone. now my club of choice is the escape.This club I acually the safest u could go to dont let the atmospire of where it is located fool u. If it wasnt 4 this club I wouldnt of met my wonderfull girlfriend RC.
hmmmm... – it is the only underage club in portland that's more geared to the gay community!!! however, the only downfall for me would have to be the music they play.... dj does plays some pretty poppin hits, but I WANT THEM TO PLAY SOME HIP-HOP, i wanna get DOWN!!! but overall, it's a good place to go with your friends and to dance!!!
HELL YEAH – I love it here and have been going for over 6 years. I love the poeple and the staff is fab! Always something new going on and it is the only Nightclub that offers Techno and not Rap!!!
