Found Dr. Bales to be very personable and helpful. He answered all my questions fully. Would recommend him to anyone with knee problems. Also really like the fact he is a Notre Dame alumni.....

Unfortunatley, I think he needs to retire. He doesn't seem to care.
Dr. Bales was easy to talk with. He made sure I understood what was happening with my knee pain and what my options were in treatment. I definitely will recommend him to others.
Dr. Monesmith performed a total hip replacement on me last year. I had “end stage osteoarthritis” which was bone on bone in my hip joint. I went from being barely able to walk unassisted at age 64 from my car to my front door to now walking 5 miles at a time pain free. The surgery went extremely well and I went home the next day. I required NO physical therapy afterwards. My husband and I did quite a bit of research into ortho doctors in the area, so I was comfortable with what I knew about Dr. Bales before my visit. Staff was nice and I didn't have to wait long to actually see him. He was very personable and answered all my questions. Factoring in all I said and what x-rays showed, he chose a conservative route, doing the minimum at this point to see if it heals on its own. Great Ortho doctor.
I have recently had 2 Total Hip Replacement surgeries this year and fully regret waiting so long to make my appointment. Dr. Monesmith took a lot of time answering all my questions and even asked me questions at times which helped me to get a better understanding. My first surgery went so well that it removed any apprehensions I had before having the second hip done and was looking forward to getting it done and behind me.
