One piece of advice..... Get there EARLY. Once the parking lot is full, they close the gate and turn away everyone waiting in line. A Park Ranger told me this usually happens between 60-90 mins after they open.
I get it, you don't want a million people in the park ruining the views and experience.. but seriously y'all should figure out a better way to manage capacity. Turing away people (not just me) who have traveled for hours is just ridiculous. People want to see Texas, and you are depriving them. Invest in a ticketing/reservation system. This will organize, streamline, and reduce problems with the park being 'full'. Sure I'd even help you, but for now, one star.
Beautiful place to to take the family!!! Great for the kids. Just get there early!!
