I have been frequenting ESS for about a year now and I have to say it's one of my favorite places in the city. The food is always so thoughtfully crafted and made from ingredients purchased from local farmers. They change that staple items based on what's fresh for the day and you can genuinely tell when you're eating. The bar and wait staff are top notch. I took my mom here for her birthday and it was amazing! I have never been so delighted on my first time to a new restaurant. I always want the best for my mom and they did not dissapoint. The atmosphere is amazing. Farm to table a plus and the food was out of this world.
The food was phenomenal with every ingredient serving a purpose that enhanced the dishes served. The service was also excellent and the wines by the glass complimented the food perfectly.
Had an awesome evening with some great bartenders, Brendan, Jeff and the nicest girl bartender. Had some really great drinks. I had an Evening Prelude, my brother had Day Drinker. Husband had a Moscow mule .Loved the taste and the presentation of these drinks. Appetizers were farm egg chicken and also the pimento cheese with maple bacon on top! Wow! Superb! Will be back soon! Recommend this to all who want an evening of feeling special. Staff and the chefs are the best! Thanks again for a wonderful evening!!!!!
Overall a wonderful experience. ESS is a gorgeous setting with fine outdoor dining. The drink selection is outstanding and the beer/wine list song. The first and second courses were tasty, distinctive and flavorful. The Guatemalan coffee capped off a great evening.
