Very Very dissappointed – I was pretty excited about eating at NOLA since my wife and I stumbled upon it while walking around the French Quarter. We noticed they had a special menu for mothers day that night, but we were too late to sit down. So, we made plans to make reservations for the next day. Great Quality, Amazing Service – During my stay at the Venetian this past week, I had the opportunity to dine at Emeril Lagasse's table 10 in the Palazzo Shoppes 2nd Floor on Saturday evening. The menu was large enough to have something for everyone and you can definitely see the Cajun influence. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL – This was probably the most disappointing experience we have had at a restaurant in a very long time. We have always enjoyed Emeril's restaurants and when we were in New Orleans had most of our meals at an Emeril restaurant. But Emeril should be ashamed to have his name on this place. Great Service – We had the gumbo of the day - braised pork, sausage with black eyed peas - and for dinner, the shrimp and grits. These dishes were by far the best I have ever tasted! Favorite restaurant in New Orleans – Went for lunch on a Friday. Contrary to many reviews, the atmosphere to include the lack of excessive noise was perfect. Well attended to by three staffers. Stuffed deboned chicken wings to start were great. Jalapeno corn bread moist and nicely flavored. Wife had the boneless fried chicken and it was awesome. Breading crisp while chicken still moist. So, So – So we were looking for somewhere cheap to dine at for lunch today. After spending at least $100.00 everywhere else we went. We chose NOLA, because well.. Its Emeril's restaurant. We were seated by the manager. It took a while for a real waiter to come serve us. We ordered our drinks, and after 20 minutes or longer we were served a choice of bread. Make reservations early!! – I took my wife and daughter here during spring break. Whow. We each ordered a different kind of steak. Each came out exactly as ordered and at exactly the same time! The steaks were a lot bigger than expected and we had to ask for doggie boxes. (We finished it off the next day!) Great wine selection. Great service. What a waste! – I'm so sad to have wasted our special night out here. It was absurdly overpriced for medium quality food, and the service was kind, but untrained (who uses a crumb sweeper to sweep crumbs onto the customer's shoes??)
Move over Emeril, Richie's in the kitchen! – You simply have to try this restaurant. Just had dinner here last night after 2 weeks touring all the finest rest. in Aspen CO. Short story, there is no better restaurant - bar none.
