My first time seeing Dr Tamano he seemed irritated with me. He said my diagnosis didn't make sense I reminded him I am not a Dr and didn't give myself the diagnosis it was my previous Dr. He only asked me pointed questions no detail. I guess I misunderstood the job of a physiatrist, I thought we would discuss my life and he would listen to my issues and how to get better or how to deal with them. All he did was adjust my meds and say come back in a month. I left confused and irritated.

Dr. Tamano was an atrocious psychiatrist. He consistently got my medicinal background (i have only been on one antidepressant at 2 different strengths in my entire life-not difficult) and depression timeline wrong, even after I reiterated it several times. He then made me feel like it was my fault that he did not get the information correct. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. He offered nothing better than what my primary care physician had prescribed. Not worth the time or money.

AI like Dr. Tamano, but what I don’t like is being able to contact him and get a response back within hours instead of days. It’s impossible to get a timely answer within the same day. Rating on this is very poor.

I also do not understand the negative reviews about Dr. Tamano. I have been seeing him for 6 years now. He's very easy to talk to, down to earth, calm, and explains things well. Not arrogant like many other doctors.

Not sure why Dr. Tamano is receiving any negative comments, but from my experience over the past 3 years, he has been very attentive to my issues and concerns about my medications. He takes detailed notes, so we can go over things that have improved or have not improved . I do not expect psychotherapy when I see Dr. Tamano, because that's not what I am seeing him for, but he asks me how my life is going, and I feel he has gotten to know me as a person, and not just as a patient.

For me, Dr. Tamano has no "bedside manner", so to speak, and seemed irritable the first time I saw him. He knows his meds, but when they didn't work, or made me feel worse, he became angry and frustrated. When I took a test, he acted like he was angry about my answers. Before I left, he prescribed a medication that the pharmacist said should not be taken the way it was written.

I appreciate Dr. Tamano's attention to detail. He takes copious notes and is always asking questions and helping you to determine what medications you need. I highly recommend him.

This doctor can be quick to the point and he is very smart in deciphering what the bottom line issue is. I would highly recommend him to family and friends.

Dr. Tamano prescribed a mood stabilizer for me. It's usually taken at night, but he told me to take it in the morning. I almost crashed my car. I had to arrange a ride for my son home from school, then I came home, fell inside the front door and passed out for 3 hours before I could move. When I told him I couldn't handle side effects like that, he became outraged and yelled at me, and told me I just didn't want to do what he said. He was so demeaning, I would never go back or recommend him.
