Good food and service, but a terrible live music venue. We were there for Bill's 70th birthday bash. The food and service in the Backstage area were good and the musicians were fabulous. Where's Hank Alrich when you need him? The sound mix was bad. Bass fiddle and kick drum levels way too loud. This is a trend that is driving us away from live shows. We have been here Celebrating two different birthdays twice this month. Both times the wait staff and service was HORRIBLE! Gave it a second chance hoping it was just an off day, nope. I actually got up to get water and tea, seemed to be an inconvenience to our waiter. Plenty of places in south Austin to enjoy HAPPY hour and celebrate birthdays. Thank you for showing us where we do not want to go!

the wifi could be better throughout for our biz gigs, but I've loved this place for over 25 years and will always come in and feel like this is home. Great service, I can actually claim; it has gotten so much so, I'm super proud to bring in guests from anywhere. The vibe and decor is just fun and uplifting. Good food, good people; yes, I'm a happy girl when I come to El Mercado.
