We have been coming to El Matador for years. We love the food and the service is usually good. Today, however, was not that way. When we were seated, there were quite a few empty tables surrounding us. They eventually filled up...because we were there 2 1/2 hours. The food was still delicious, but that is entirely too long for a lunch. When we complained at the front, they just said that they were busy. We have been here when they've been even more busy, and we have never had to wait so long for our food to arrive. It took s... read more

Go to Lorena's my parents worked here for 40 years and without good cause were both terminated without a rational reason. The new owner Rosemarie is a pompous woman with a low IQ and her son that runs it is a convicted drug dealer. Google his name. If you eat here your contributing to their lifestyle that needs to be dessimated. My mother Nannette that worked tHhere says Anton is a joke whom never had had a job other than dealing drugs. My mother also says he is an idiot that is argumentative in an attempt to seem smart that... read more

Don't order the kids meal. Honestly I rarely go to El Matador, but since I was there last a lot has changed. My 35 pound 4 year old ate his entire kids meal and then asked for more food because he was still hungry. The 1/4 cup of rice and mini tortilla with cheese for $6 is absolutely ridiculous! My meal was considerably smaller as well. I won't be going back any time soon.

Worst Restaurant Ever – I've been to many restaurants in my life time, but going to this restaurant was one of the worst experiences of my life. The cashiers and hostess were very rude. Especially this one. I believe his name is Andrew. He looks like a cockroach and has a massive nose and terrible acne. I did not know that they were allowed to hire 14 year old. then he took us too our table, eye balling my wife's breasts and with an obviously fake smile he said enjoy the food. Just when I thought the worst part was over, our ... read more

Don't waste your time or money – We went there 12 years ago at the recommendation of a neighbor when we moved here. We were not impressed then. Last night we again because of a comment from another friend. The service was very good but the foood was mediocre at best. Rice and beans were overcooked and very dry. Chimichanga was overcooked, tough, and had very little meat. Same generic tomato sauce dumped over things. We won't bother to go back again. There are much more authentic Mexican restaurants around the serve delicious... read more

Changed a lot – My boyfriend remembers going to this restaurant as a child, so we went for lunch...and apparently things have changed a lot. I got a smothered burrito, and it was tasteless. The rice was overcooked. The salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce, and it was served WARM. Gross. Not to mention overpriced. It stays in business because it is popular with the locals......it's mexican food for great white northerners. Particularly the older folk who cant handle ANY spices. Our waitress was very nice and the manager was sure ... read more

Good enough food, better service. – I go to El Matador for lunch quite a bit. The food is good. The warm salsa is a nice change of pace and I get it with cheese. Yumm.. I like the enchiladas. I now ask for Sandra because she is nice and fast with the service. Most important to me is that she kept my table clear. Good service is always a plus when you go out to eat. I think El Matador is worth the trip for sure!!
