Food was bland at best. For a Mexican restaurant that's a turn off. Service staff very good though. Drinks a bit pricey.
It's been a while since I've been to El Chico, I used to go to the one in north Arlington every now and then but it's been quite some time since I've been to the Richland Hills location. I ordered the "cinco burritos" with charro beans and rice, consisting of 5 mini burritos (one guacamole, one bean, two beef and one chicken). I didn't realize how spicy the dish was (I wish that they had marked it as such on the menu) and after the fifth or sixth bite my mouth was on fire. This place, went through a time where the food and, service were horrible. One day in 2014 my husband and I decided to try it again just to see if it had improved. We are very pleased to say it is amazing now. We love to go and sit on the bar side. Drew is a great waiter that will tend to your needs everytime. The food improved 100 percent. If you haven't been in a while please consider trying them again
We have eaten here several times this year......love the food... I know it's a Mexican restaurant but I decided on a hamburger ..great choice....the burgers here remind me of my hay hauling days...when we stopped in town for lunch. Way back in the 60s...the burgers are great ..the staff always go out of their way to take care of me and my family ....this place is a once a week stop for us. The mixed grill fajitas are fantastic! The vegetables were hot but still a bit crispy which I like. The white cheese sauce is a must.
Terrible service! The waitress seated us in her section. So you would think we would get good service. No, I had to get up to get more drinks and I the server in the kitchen. She was waiting for our food to come out and we had only been there about 10 minutes. We were on the road and my sugar was getting low. I guess another waitress told her to get on her table. Awesome food!! Love the atmosphere, service is friendly & yummy food!
Great food and service. Free chips and salsa. Brownie with ice cream is my favorite dessert.
