I was there for lunch Sunday Nov 11th. I haven't been there in over 20 years since I was much younger. Not only do they have the favorite things I always ate but a few new dishes I hadn't tried. Wonderful dinner. I ended up taking home the rest of mine and other people's plates but an extra to go plate. Only one thing wrong... needed a bigger chips and dip to take home. Best experience with a restaurant in years for me. Now if I could get it delivered that would be awesome.

EL CHICO IN MCKINNEY HAS CLOSED AS OF JUNE 11, 2017. BUILDING SOLD PER ARTICLE IN MCKINNEY COMMUNITY IMPACT NEWSPAPER. I ate there June 7th and it was delicious as usual. It was my go to place for a quick, good lunch.
My husband and I stopped for a late dinner at El Chico, Desoto, TX on Thursday night , 11/10/16. We ordered our drinks and meals but before our meal arrived my husband and I went to the restrooms to wash our hands. About midway in the restaurant near the bar there was a strong nasty smell of bowel movement or a busted sewer pipe. My husband said the smell in the men rest room was so strong that he was unable to tolerate it long enough to wash his hands. Lord, I thought the reviews on how good this were all exaggerated. Oh no this food was made by the Gods themselves, I have never been so made I was full I just wanted to keep eating.
Great service. Great margaritas. Great food. Almost didn't eat here due to the reviews but decided to anyway. So glad we did.
Upscale Taco Bell but the food's not really that bad they do have live bands on Thursdays which is great if you go there for alcohol order A cold beer margaritas lack alcohol
