Extend-A-Care is above average in that it offers programming that engages the mind, but the lack of physical activity means I have to give it a lower rating. After a long day in school, kids need to move, jump, run, physically play, but they're rarely given that chance. EAC would be a 5 start program if they incorporated more movement, less quiet, busy work. The teachers are caring, and friendly, and they do their best to keep the children happy and engaged. The after school program at Eden Park is great! The camps held on the breaks at Real Academy had a very inept person watching the kids in my daughters group and I had an issue everyday when I picked up my daughter. From other kids using bad language to my daughter getting jumped on and hit by a boy in her group. The person assigned to my daughter's group was barely even paying attention to the kids and never told me about any of the incidents. I had to hear everything from my daughter or another student. It is great, but I wish it had sports for the kids!!!
Staff was very friendly, and my daughter always enjoyed going to extend-a-care. The only negative is the kids didn't seem to get as much outside time as we have experienced at Becker.
The Director, Brittany, at EPA EAC is amazing! My girls love her dearly, but her individual "group leader" is not my favorite, and we have been with an EAC program for about 4 years. She often is frustrated with her group and raises her voice. My daughter is not very happy these past few weeks when she leaves in the afternoon.
They are always attentive and the kids get their work done and still have fun! great team
The teachers with EAC really care about my son and he has a great time in a structured environment
They are all awesome! Everyone of the staff is keenly aware of my child's personality and "quirks" and knows how to handle him. They are fabulous in making sure all homework is done and are always very forthcoming with information about the on-goings, whether good or bad, of the day.
