My wife and I have been members since this location opened. The place is always clean and the equipment is always in great working order. If an issue comes up management is very prompt in resolution.
This is the only gym in downtown charleston, and I love it. New equipment, cycling and access to Blue Turtle is included in the membership.
The customer service is horrible. Hit with a $25 late fee for a $49 bill after receiving call that my card was invalid. New card number was given to caller from ECOFitness and the monthy fee was charged PLUS an additional $25 fee. The place is very clean, but their account department is a hassle to deal with. I'm cancelling my membership.
Moms and snot-nosed kids – I go to the Mt. Pleasant location. This "gym" is over-run with stay at home unemployed yuppie moms and kids. I work from home and have the flexibility to go and workout any time of day. All morning and afternoon, the place is hijacked by these obnoxious snobby women and their litter of children. There are more damn kids running around this place than there are adults working out! Why? This is more of a daycare center than it is a gym. Good sales pitch - horrible customer service – Several friends like the childcare options and enjoy it there. However, we all concur that the customer service and general attitude of the staff is very poor. It is very frustrating as the way you are greeted and treated can make a big impact on how you feel about your workout. Alright for the money, No Airflow – The free weights only go up to 100 lbs, the place has awful airflow...there is no fans in the main area, this gym caters more towards the cardio crowd then the weight lifters. I have yet to see them perform preventative maintenance on any of the machines. They wait until things break to give it any attention. love the sprout cafe – love the sprout and its raw cafe and juice bar. the owner has been super helpful and helped us through a detox. love the raw food. dianne's classes rock. i buy to many clothes from her shop but such great stuff.
if you are a gym person this is the heath club for you – we were having some money issues around christmas and eco let us freeze our payments and still use the club until the first of the year. It was a big help and was able to keep my sanity during a stressful time.
love this gym – great instructors, lots of classes and the child care is very well run. best gym i've ever joined, very clean and prices re lower than other gyms in the area. I've been a member for over two years and take many of the classes. Me and my friends( all female) love spin and the yoga classes because they are challenging and fun. this gym goes out of there way to provide a great family environment.
