All I needed was a new needle for my turntable. Ended up having the guys install it and I bought a sub woofer. I was most impressed with how polite, knowledgeable and friendly the staff was. I mostly had my mouth open and giving monosyllabic answers and there was no sense of condescension. Awesome!
Supremely eclectic mix of new and used audio products. Lots of great new technologies to try before you buy, including some you may not have known were yet made. Kurt has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things audio, and if you can't put together a great system with what's on offer, Kurt will put you on the right track. Very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. Well worth having to drive around for a few minutes to find a parking spot on a busy afternoon.
A Gem in the retail world of today. Very refreshing to find a business that is fair, ethical, and honest, which sadly, is rare these days. My first pick for anything audio in the Oregon area.
Still shopping Echo even though I moved from Oregon to ATL. 30 years of buying gear, and no shop has been as valuable, useful, or friendly.

I won't go anywhere else in Portland than Echo Audio for stereo gear. Kurt and his staff are smart, friendly, and most importantly: meet you where you are without snobbery or pretense. I've never felt judged for whatever budget, listening habits, musical tastes, etc. I've come in the door with.
