Friendly staff, great food! It was my birthday and they surprised with a lit bday candle on my pancake.
The staff was fantastic, very friendly. The chicken and waffles and fried green tomatoes were out of this world.

Highly overrated. Friendly staff, but the eggs in my "mess" scramble were badly over cooked.

Oh, Charleston! We really hate to say goodbye! One last stop we could not resist. As seen on Food Network, the Early Bird Diner was amazing and more! The shrimp and grits were absolutely the best I have ever had. Jim had the chicken and waffles and it was to die for! 😋 This little place is a jewel, and an absolute must when you're out this way! Definitely worth the wait!!
Totally worth the 30-minute wait to be seated. My first ever chicken & waffles, and it was amazing! Kids also loved their "eclipse pancakes." Staff was super-friendly; service was great. Even offered us coffee to go when we were done! ETA: Came back for brunch today. No wait. Everything was just as awesome as yesterday. Best fried pickles I've ever had.
The food at this establishment is top notch and the service was good too. Well priced and a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend eating here.
We love EBD!!! The chicken and waffles are worth the 1 hour 45 minute drive we take when visiting Charleston. We make sure to make it our breakfast stop before we had out for a day of shopping. The wait staff are always friendly and greet you with a smile. The food is piping hot and so magnificently delicious. I wish we had a EBD in Pawleys Island, we'd be frequent flyers lol!!
