Each patient is unique, therefore, each patient needs to become an expert in their disorder or cancer in order to make a decision that is best for them. I prefer to meet with my patients at the end of the day or arrange a conference at off hours, to allow as much time as a patient needs to fully understand their options. At the end of this conference, I prefer the patient return home and think about our discussion before making a decision. I expect them to have discussions with their primary care doctor or any friends or fam... read more

Dr. William K. Johnston III, who performed the da Vinci Robotic Surgery, to remove my prostate is top tier at this. He does a couple hundred of these a year. He is well prepared to handle any unforeseen contingency's that may be found while performing this surgery. It is readily apparent that he has confidence and a strong passion for his work. His focus is not just on removing the cancerous prostate to save your life, put to carefully spare the nerves and reconnection of the urethra to minimize recovery time of erectile and... read more
He's a competent surgeon, but expect to be treated badly, especially if you're a woman. Bedside manner ranged from condescending to insulting to downright sexist. As a guy, I sometimes don't see it, but his behavior was SO misogynistic and demeaning it was impossible to miss. Today was the last straw. After waiting over an hour today for a 30 second consult, I politely asked if we could do the next one over the phone, since we had waited so long. We were belittled, lectured about how medicine worked, accused of not liking hi... read more
Great, Dr. Johnston was recommended by my primary physician after an annual check up. My nightmares were confirmed after he did further tests. As a 52 year old I was worried about everything. He has done a fantastic job, I am still healing but I would recommend him to anyone. Great job.
Dr. Johnston performed a robotic laproscopic prostatecomy at Beaumont on me at age 68 in October 2017. I was home the next day with no complications. Skied that winter and biked next summer. I wore light pads for a year while I gained the confidence to go without. Probably could have gone without earlier! No accidents. PSA is still at "0". I found Dr. Johnston to be patient, understanding and caring of my concerns and treated me with respect.
Dr. Johnston did a fantastic job in explaining the radical prostatectomy surgery process along with expectations after the surgery. Everything was spot on as he stated. At my follow up visit, 8 days after the surgery to remove the catheter, Dr Johnson gave me the good news that the pathology report showed that all the cancer was removed. Dr Johnson is very smart, well experienced and takes the time to answer any question that I had. The Robotic surgery process is remarkable. I was out of the h
Dr. Johnston III provided an understanding of treatment options that included advantages and disadvantages. He responded timely to questions and supported a strong physician-patient partnership creating a customized treatment. He checked on me after hospital discharge and maintained subsequent care. I am glad to say that two months after surgery, I have had no erectile dysfunction, limited incontinence, minimal scarring and am cancer free as a result of the care received.
Very well informed and took the time to answer my questions.
Dr. Johnston was very kind and caring with my 91 year old Dad. The treatment of his condition is going very well, and we are all thankful.
My husband was diagnosed with with prostate cancer mid 2018. After doing a lot of research and talking with different people. He decided to have it removed. Dr. Johnston was recommended to him. He explained the procedure to us and answered our questions, he was very informative and straight forward. The surgery went very well and he has no issues with incontinence. Dr. Johnston said he would have erections and that is slowly coming back. We are happy with the out come of the surgery and the Dr.
