Dr. Aeschlimann has been my psychiatric doctor for nearly four years and, regardless of that, there is a sense of genuine caring for your mental health whether you've been with her for that long or are a first-time patient. I just read all the reviews and WOW! The ones who wrote bad ones...first of all, ANY doctors office is going to discharge you for no shows and canceling multiple times. Second of all, I’ve been seeing her since at least 2014 and she has seen me the whole way through! If you are a drug seeker then yes, you will probably be dropped. Dr. A doesn’t just throw out drugs. INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! This was not my first psychiatrist visit but it was my first experience with Dr. A. I never felt rushed and you can tell she truly listens to you and wants to get you on the right path. I’m so so thankful someone recommended me to her. I am actually looking forward to my next appointment!
I liked Dr. Aeschlimann at first (not that I dislike her), however my mental health began to take a dramatic downturn after she began trying me on heavy medications. She then discharged me from her practice at a point where I was at my worst (I had never missed an appointment nor did I make it a habit to cancel). Dr. A is the best psychiatrist in the entire United States. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression when I was 12. I was misdiagnosed and given all the wrong medications. I saw numerous Psychiatrist and Psychologist over the years and I have never felt like a doctor knows what they are talking about. When I became pregnant after my initial session with Dr. Aeschlimann she never stopped at making sure I was stable and my baby would be safe. Do not go to her. She will discharge you eventually and make up some random excuse. Her replies to bad reviews are always substance abuse. Even if someone is abusing a substance don’t you think a good doctor would help them not discharge them leaving them not knowing where to go next.
Dr. A is amazing!! She is there for me even between office visits and is a Christian which is important to me. She is very sweet and the only psychiatrist I trust. I drive an hour and a half to see her.
I have been seeing Dr. Aeschilmann for over 10 years. She is the most knowledgeable psychiatrist I've had in over 30 years of treatment. Very few doctors will refuse to quit on extremely treatment resistant cases and continue to work and think outside of the box. I could not have a higher level of confidence in a provider. If I were to leave the area I would still return to see Dr. Aeschilmann if I had to fly in for appointments
Dr. Aeschlimann is the FIRST doctor I have been to in Northern Alabama who has a specialty in BiPolar disorders. I have been treated for Bi-Polar and Anxiety for 16 years. Hospitalized twice and I have learned most psychiatrists could never figure out a RX program to give me relief. (Extremely tired or couldn’t get my mind to stop) I would recommend her to anyone who suffers with BiPolar or Generalized Anxiety!!
