Dr. Ely has been our family dentist for over 19 years. He has treated our two children for their entire dental history (now 18 and 21). He has been very professional and personable. I am in the reserves and the reserve dentists always remark extremely positively about the quality of the work he performs. I highly recommend him.
I recently had 3 root canals. It was 100% successful, he has professional gentle manner with my fear and provided staff assurance for my needs. He was sensitive to my financial circumstances and travel to obtain services.
Dr. Sherman Ely has done my Marilyn Bridges, fillings, bleach trays, and general dental cleanings. Everything he has done is great. Very personable, capable, and compassionate dentist.
Had trouble with the old office staff, but they've all been relpaced. The new staff are outstanding and helpful. I would recommend Dr. Ely to anyone.
Dr. Ely is a dentists dentist; very astute and with so much experience. I have complete trust in him and his staff. I have basically have had my entre mouth rebuilt by Dr. Ely and there is no procedure I would not trust him to complete.
I never remember cavity fillings as being so painful and traumatizing! While Dr. Ely and his team did work fast, the procedure was painful and awkward, which I know is a given during a filling, but this seemed even more so. My boyfriend had some fillings put in as well, which altered his bite, and made him unable to sleep for a week due to the pain. Fortunately, Dr. Ely fixed the problem, but he still has pain every once and awhile.
I saw Dr. Ely in 2004 for a painful tooth. I didn't have dental insurance at the time and would be paying out of my pocket. Dr. Ely took a look at my tooth and said I would need a filling. I was afraid I'd need a root canal, but he reassured me that I did not need one. Within the month I had alot of pain still remaining in this tooth; He told me to come back in and said that I WOULD need a root canal in that tooth afterall. This doctor is well qualified to perform whatever surgery is necessary succesfully and using the latest dental imaging technology. However, associated dental work is sometimes performed by an assistant who clearly does not have the same skills. Insist that the doctor do all the work.
I would not recommend Dr. Ely's office to anyone. he's a decent dentist, but his staff are extremely pushy. They told me I was there for a simply cavity which turned out to be a root canal which took 4 hours. They didn't tell me what the charges were going to be, it turns out that I owe them $2500 for my root canal which i was in pain from for a week afterwards.
