You will not find a more caring, accessible physician. My husband had a septic knee develope after an ENT procedure. He was professional and displayed such a support to us during a very trying few months. He was accessible to us 24/7. I highly recommend Dr Schaefer for any joint care.
It was awful...........
Had my first total done when I was 65. Second one followed at 68. I am somewhat familiar with medical procedures such as these. The surgical part could probably be done by any number of the orthopedic docs in town. But the real difference is the attention during rehab. Dr. Schaefer attended to my needs post surgery at home as well as the P.T. that followed. I have been treated by a good number of physicians over the years. There is no better "total package" than Dr. Schaefer!
I have dealt with knee pain for 20+ years and never imagined a day without my cane or an hour without pain. When I showed up to Dr Schaefer’s office I was at my worse - confined to a wheelchair and Knee surgery was my only option if I ever wanted to walk again. Within months I had both knees done and successfully went through rehab. I am now walking without a cane and doing things I haven't done in years. Thank you Doctor Schaefer for giving me back my life.
Dr. Schaefer did both my my knees at the same time in 2005.I flew back and forth several times from California for consultations after a severely botched surgery on my right knee by a Newport Beach surgeon. I would recommend Dr. Schaefer for anyone in need of cutting edge surgery to alleviate pain and get your life back on track!
I have been with Dr Schaefer for about 8 years now. He took me on, as I am another local orthopedic Drs mess up! Dr Schaefer he knows his stuff And stays up to date on procedures and technology, he takes the time to listen to you and he truly cares for his patiants! He explains everything to you and makes sure you understand! Even all of his staff is just incredible!!! I would and in fact I have recommend him to do many people!! I have never found a Dr who cares as much for his patients as him!
They accepted me as a new Medicaid patient since no one in the Lansing, Michigan area would. I am very thankful for that! Their care was excellent as compared to other Ortho physicians I have seen in the past. They were very interested in me as a patient and my condition. I would recommend them to others. I give them 4 stars.
