I tore my rotator cuff falling off a bicycle. I was referred to Dr Thorsness at Hinsdale Orthopaedics for treatment. Dr T informed me that the tear in my Supraspinatus was large as I could not raise my right arm & could only be fixed by surgery which he did with his team at St Josephs, Joliet. I wore an immobilizer for 6wks after which Dr T guided my PT at Primary Care, Joliet. After 6mths I have regained 90% of the use of my arm & the remaining 10% should return in 6mths after normal use.

Dr. Thorsness and his team did an outstanding job with my elbow surgery. I have had no pain and am now completely healed.
Without the excellent care I doubt I would have this much movement in my shoulder
After having a reverse shoulder replacement I would highly recommend Dr. Thorsness to you. The entire procedure and recovery therapy, while inconvenient (bathing, therapy, etc.), involved very little to no actual pain. Dr. explained what was involved with this type of surgery and his aftercare could not have been better.

Dr. Thorsness have done me very well. At age 63, I thought my CrossFit days were over when I severely tore my left bicep and rotator from the moving accident. While fixing the mishaps he also took care of the chronic shoulder impingement, which in three months of therapy I’ve gained back a full range of motion. Now I’m back to my passion of CrossFit and I will compete next spring with high confidence. Next August, Dr. Thorsness, he will be taking care of my chronic right shoulder impingement.
I was referred to Dr. Thorsness by another orthopedic surgeon in the Hinsdale Orthopeadic Group as being the best shoulder surgeon for me. I had already been turned down by other well known shoulder specialists in the Chicago area because of my many health issues. Dr. Thorsness never hesitated to help me. He performed a total shoulder replacement mid April 2018. I then completed six weeks of P.T. By mid August 2018 I was totally pain free with range of motion I hadn't had in over 20 years!
I would highly recommend Dr. Thorsness. He is professional, friendly, and after a complete shoulder replacement procedure, I healed very fast. My physical therapist helped me with his range of motion and strength protocols, and I was three weeks ahead of where I should be with range of motion.
