I’ve had two surgery’s with Dr Hansell. I am very happy with his professionalism and caring. His “bedside” manners are excellent. His office team is also very caring and very responsive. I am still a patient with Dr Hansell and highly recommend him.
Have had pain in my left knee for a couple of years. Saw Dr Hansell who took exrays, etc. Course of treatment was to offer surgery but due to my lousy work insurance, I will wait until I am on Medicare for that. We opted for injections in the knee which are done about twice a year. The pain subsides and I am able to go without a brace for several weeks. Dr Hansell explains everything well and the injection is painless as he uses a spray to "freeze" the area the needle will go in.
I am also a physician, Board Certified in two-specialties. Dr Hansell facilitated a rapid admission for surgery after conducting the finest Orthopedic & Neurological physical-exam I have ever experienced. Immediately after surgery I was free of symptoms and he offered me a sensible, conservative surgical approach absent unnecessary fusion hardware. I would recommend him for spine surgery as top tier. Many years ago he helped me with a non-operative shoulder injury with spectacularly good results, too.
I had a total right hip replacement by Dr. Hansel in August of 2017. It has been a total nightmare from day one! I woke up with no feeling in my right toes. He assured me the feeling would come back within a couple of days but it's been almost 2 years and still no feeling! I have constant pain in my right hip and lower back. I have spent the past two years seeing and paying for numerous specialists, having MRIs, x-rays, nerve test etc. Bottom line is I have permanent nerve damage from this surgery! I no longer can enjoy shop... read more
He did a laminectomy at 4-5 in 1999. I now suffer from post laminectomy syndrome and my current orthopedic doctor feels the surgery was not necessary. Inam in pain every day. Physical therapy was not offered as an option either before or after surgery. I found Dr. Hansen to be cold and abrupt. He never saw me in the hospital nor did a member of his staff. Find a different surgeon!
Exceptional care. Required surgery quickly, great care, and follow-up.
If you owe this doctor any money, regardless how long it has been and you have a workmans comp claim, they will not except you as a patient. Not sure what one thing has to do with the other, but I think it is cruel. No one knows what circumstances you were in when you could not pay. So if your in pain from work related injury, you will not be seen. Goes to show, the almighty dollar is more important than a human being. Great job, Dr. Hansell.
Everyone in the office is pleasant and helpful including the physical therapy staff in the office next door.
