I found Dr Larkin to have a condescending and creepy manner, which left me feeling vulnerable and furious. He responded with irritation to my questions about the invasive and scary procedure I was enduring. The rooms are old and musty, crammed full of stacked chairs and dusty storage boxes piled in the corner of the waiting room where clients sit in plastic chairs, trying not to bump shoulders and rub thighs. I recently had cataracts removed from both eyes by Dr Phil Larkin of Batemans Bay. The results have been fantastic ( well beyond my expectations ) and the care I received throughout the process was professional, supportive and thoughtful. You feel like you just apart of the 'factory'. He is overbooked, the wait times are ridiculously long. We were treated like another number, rude, uncompassionate man and i would not recommend him to anyone, drive to Bega if you have to...The surgery is a 'joke' for a health professional with no satisfactory waiting area, public toilet facilities and don't get me started on the access to this building is atrocious..

I do not recommend Dr Larkin. The results of my cataract surgery are mediocre. My story: For a quicker outcome, I went private and paid $4,000 plus travel and accommodation costs to have cataract surgery on my left eye. In spite of the impressive measurements made on my first visit, I was never offered any choice of lens. Since my surgery (early in 2024), my best focus seems to be about 3m - 5m away; neither long nor short. On the follow up visit, I asked Dr Larkin what type of lens he had used.
