Dr. Stein specializes in shoulder and elbow repair. I had dealt with shoulder pain for several years. I could no longer throw a ball, put my hands behind my head or reach up to paint or repair anything in my home. Dr. Stein reviewed my x-ray and showed me where a burr or spur had formed. He told me that a replacement would be the best way to resolve the problem. I told him that others had told me that shoulder surgeries were hard to heal. Dr. Stein told me with a lot of confidence that he had performed 150 surgeries the prvi... read more

Dr Stein is incredible. Though he is in Baltimore and I am in Washington, he has operated on many of my patients so when my turn came, he was my natural choice. He replaced my left shoulder. He was very conservative and tried less invasive methods first but when they stopped working, it was time for surgery. He took his time explaining RX everything and answered all my questions. He called me after the surgery to make sure I was continuing to do well. I had very little pain after surgery. I feel lucky he was my surgeon!!!!!!... read more

Unless you require surgery, don't bother making an appt. He seems quite competent, but unless the x-ray shows surgery required, you will be classified as having "non-surgical shoulder pain" and told to do PT and get a cortisone shot--no MRI required.

Dr. Stein performed a distal biceps tendon repair on my left arm (dominant arm) almost four years ago. It is important to note that I am a graphic designer/illustrator and my arm is essential to my career. My arm completely healed over the course of the first year. I followed all exercises and stretching guidance from both Dr. Stein and his associate Steven Doll, PA-C. Dr. Stein had an excellent bedside manner, was considerate, thorough and kind. He immediately went to the waiting room and updated my wife on my condition whi... read more

Simply put he is the most dismissive arrogant doctor. Medstar should be ashamed. My other doctors there like Dr Levine are great. He ruined my shoulder. And he blamed me for it.

I had distal bicep tendon surgery with Dr. Stein. Every interaction with Dr. Stein was professional, informative and i had all my questions answered while not feeling rushed along. My surgery was two days ago so I'm just getting into recovering but I am feeling great. Very little pain, no numbness or other complications, everything went extremely well. The entire surgical team was fantastic. I cannot recommend this surgeon or his team more. Thankfully I was able to get connected with him and have him take care of my issue.

I was treated with disrespect by both dr stein and his PA steve doll who is very arrogant. I wanted to discuss shoulder replacement but be said “you’re too fat”. How is he even a doctor. Patients in the waiting room were very unhappy also.

My husband and I have both had shoulder replacements performed by Dr. Stein. Our outcomes are excellent. Our follow-up care excellent. Dr. Stein is very compassionate and always called us post-op to check in. Steve the PA and the office staff are great. We have made multiple referrals to this practice.

If you sustain a work injury and want to file a worker's compensation claim, you may want to think twice before seeing Jason Stein. My claim was denied because he failed to include in my medical file a single word of our conversation regarding my work causing my injury. His inattentiveness and negligence cost me over $700 in denied compensation! A competent doctor listens to his patients and follows through. Not so with Jason Stein. By the way, if you're in pain and need an x-ray, brace yourself. Dr. Stein's x-ray technician... read more
