I took my mother to see Dr Vander for a second opinion. I found Dr Vander to be very patient, caring and honest. He tested my mother extensively and said my mother did not require the surgery recommended by another ophthalmologist. I was so grateful for his honest opinion which prevented my 88 year old mother from going through unnecessary surgery.
I had an absolutely horrible experience at Mid Atlantic Retina at Wills Eye Hospital. The experience was like going through an assembly line rather than a professional and personal approach to eye care.
Dr Vander and his entire staff are knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my appointment and once the appointment begins carefully orchestrated process takes one quickly through the appointment. Dr. Vander operated on me for a condition Calle macular pucker and the outcome was everything I could have hope. My procedure was done at Wills all oh my follow ups have been at their Newtown Square offices.
My eye was getting really bad. I went to Dr Vander and he figured out what was wrong right away. He performed very delicate surgery and now I see great. He could not have been nicer. Everyone he works with was great too. I have been to many doctors over the years. Dr Vander is truly top notch.
I had the worst possible patient experience that someone could have with Dr Vander. The office visit was very rushed and he failed to adequately review my previous physician’s notes. Vander was extremely careless in that he overlooked the existence of a very common infection and prescribed a very strong steroid that resulted in the destructive of 70% of my Cornea. This caused me to have to endure an emergency Cornea transplant which I have still not recovered from. He is a horrible physician who
What an organized and pleasant office. After the normal 1/2 hour waiting room, the rest of the visit went like clockwork moving from room to room. All the staff members were delightful, competent, and efficient. Dr. Vander explained everything in understandable detail. I would hope you don't need a doctor like this, but if you do, this is the one to go to.
I've been seeing Dr Vander for more years than I can count. I tried several other retinal specialists, both in this practice and one other, and was thrilled to finally find someone with whom I felt comfortable.! (Professional, good communicator, "seems to know his stuff", and VERY reassuring!) Fantastic "bed-side" manner!
