I love Dr. Handoo. He has me on far fewer medications than any of my previous psychiatrists, but I am feeling the best I have since I was in my 20s. I finally feel like I have my life back and I can't thank him enough.
I recently finished IV ketamine treatments with Dr. Handoo and it was the best decision I ever made. I struggled with depression for years, and ketamine saved my life. He has always been incredibly kind, courteous, and cares about me as a person. I appreciate that he spends more time with me during my appointment if I am ever having problems. I usually never wait more than 15-20 minutes. I have seen tons of psychiatrists over the years and Dr. Handoo has been the best I have ever seen.
Had him cancel on appointments with less than 24 hours notice. He was late to every appointment by 40 minutes or longer. After showing up on time, the receptionist told me "Someone should have told you Dr. Handoo is always really late".
Too impatient, chronically late for my appointments yet always rushes through my 30minute appointments into less than 15-max 20 minutes and then he just rushes me out. He doesn't seem to ever genuinely care about me as a patient. I feel like just another patient, I swear he'd hardly remember me by name without my name on my file. Too bad, I ran out of drs taking new patients... Besides his awesome front desk folks he'd completely fail. But the front desk folks do soften the blow at least.
I was referred to see Dr. Handoo by my psychologist after being frustrated with other psychiatrists I had seen. She strongly recommended Dr. Handoo and said he has a reputation in KC as one of the best psychiatrists in town. He lived up to the billing. Dr. Handoo always spends a lot of time with me and I can tell cares about me as a person. Very knowledgeable and I have been very happy with results. I usually don't ever wait more than 15 minutes and he always goes the extra mile to help
Always late, nearly impossible to get in contact with (either by phone or email (his "secretary")). Would have no weening periods between medications so i did know what was causing what side effects. I lost a great friend because of his method... almost had a heart attack because of one of the medication he had increased the dose on. The best part was when i had terminated his services and then received a mail a week later stating that he had terminated services.
Very caring and thorough. Treats you as a person, not just a patient. Highly recommend!
Great doctor. At the place I go to ... He is always late to his appointment by 30-45 minutes BUT he tells you to always show up 30 min after scheduled time which eliminates that problem. Very good, listens well. And I would recommend to everyone.
