Had a L4-L5 fusion in 2001, Can't say enough about Dr Benalcazar. Pre surgery, spent over an hour answering questions, (2 different appts). Was very straight forward about post surgery - recovery restrictions. He would ALWAYS return my call usually within 24hrs if I asked his nurse to have him call me. I am 7 years post surgery, I hope never to need a Neuro again, but if so it will be Dr B. HIGHLY recommended.
One of the most compasionate doctors I had in my life. Got a lumbar fusion, and felt perfect after the surgery. I got a compresion fracture on Xmas time, He went and fixed me properly, regardless of holidays and was always informed of my post-op evolution. Follow ups had been just great. Great doctor.

disregarded my symptoms in determining which levels to fuse, did not select to test the levels correlating with my symptoms and then fused the wrong ones. He is a great salesman before surgery.
