I have been seeing Dr Shockey and his PA for 3 years. The front staff are busy but polite, my wait time is so much better than my gyn's office or my mom's heart docs office. I feel like I get straight answers that I can understand. I am blown away by the other comments. Dr. Shockey told me I was overweight too. I was by 15 pounds. Should the medical doctor tell you what is wrong with you or make you feel good about yourself? People gripe about things they know nothing about. $20 for a consult for a referral? What does the plumber get for his consult? Making a referral is based upon a diagnosis and the patient is seldom the one to have that right. I'm not surprised to see the poor ratings...the most arrogant doctor I have ever taken my mother to, I will never go back. I wish I would have told him off in person, not that it would make a difference....he's too arrogant to listen to anyone. I'm just glad I was with my mother so she didn't have to take his verbal abuse. I agree with the other reviewer, I wouldn't take my dog to see him.
Worst doctor I have seen in 20 years! Honestly doesn't care about patients only the time you are allowed! Don't be sick or have a terminal disease! He will right you off and who care next??? He doesn't care about people! I wouldn't take my dog to him!!! Coming from a very family medical field all the way to Administrator of a hospital and brain surgeons in Indianapolis. He and his staff are incompetent, arrognant and disrespectful. All he was to do was to do was a physical and complete the correct form. He was not able to complete the form correctly the first time and then what to charge an additional $30 for his mistake and lack of attentiveness to complete it correctly. He thinks big of himself. To top it off he sent us a letter which was incorrectly addressed to our neighbor who brought it to us. This doctor and his office is an embarrassment to the medical profession. A big Zero. 2nd time to see him. He wouldn't give a referral without coming in. paid 20.00 for a referral basically. He''s totally about himself. Big ego. referred to me as an obese womean with hypertension. Didn't like me disagreeing with him and basically told me to find someone else. I didn't like him from the lst time I saw him. He didn't want me going to an OBGYN. He said basically they didn't know any more than him. It's a very highly decorated reception area and office with laptops in each office. Doctor was rude, very disrespectful, and unhelpful. Went in for help with fatigue and low vitamin/mineral levels; came out crying when he told me I was fat and if he had $1 for every thirty-something woman he saw complaining of not feeling good he would be wealthy and would not have to work. I do not recommend him to anyone! I took my B-12 shot and left, and will not return. I have since lost 75 pounds, and what do you know I still don't feel good! I have been a patient of Brown Road Family Medicine for almost 2 years. I have had terrific luck with getting appointments and seeing my Practitioners. i truely believe they proved quality medical care. however, some of their office staff leaves something to be desired. the office girls are inexperienced and lack tact as well with care, my only recommendation for this practice would be directed to their staffing choices! all in all i'm happy with my care.
Dr. Shockey has been our family doctor for at least five years. He is always punctual, courteous, and knowledgable, and is always willing to fit us in his schedule when it is urgent. His practice is facilitated by up-to-date computer programs that keep better track of his patients. We will continue to use Dr. Shockey as our family physician
