Had to have emergency surgery for multiple fractures on my ankle years ago. He was the doctor on call. I was in immense pain after surgery and was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic he prescribed. He told me I was itchy and red from the bed sheets!! He does not listen well and thinks he knows everything. Very poor bedside manner with minimal follow-up after surgery in hospital. Would not recommend.
No wonder he always has appointments available. I wish I had read the reviews first. He is rude, sarcastic, and does not listen to my concerns. He looked at the MRI and read the report and never gave me an exam or other tests. In fact he told me something else was wrong with me and it was not his expertise. I have spinal stenosis. He works in the Spine Center????? Never settle for an appointment with him.
Awful and rude with no bedside manner never mind the fact he did nothing to help me, thankfully I sought a second opinion and received actual help from a real professional!
Absolutely the most incompetent and unprofessional doctor who told my son there was “nothing wrong with him and to stop faking and go back to work “ when infact he had a brain mass
Worst Dr. Ever. Did not care about anything I said
I saw Dr. Lewinnekwhen I was 21 after I herniated L5 S1...he told me I have degenerating disc disease and would need a spinal fusion...however he said I was too young and told me to go to PT....after living in chronic pain for 8 years I saw a Dr from the Boston spine group who after several epidural injections that did not work I finally got a spinal fusion that changed my life for the better...I suffered for 8 years in pain bc Dr Lewinnek told me I was "too young" and no Dr would touch me.
After waiting an hour and being forced to get 10 unnecessary x-rays, I finally met the Dr. He dictated to his scribe for 10 minutes before finally asking why I was there. After 5 minutes of conversation, he deemed that I was doing too well to be helped and would have to live with the pain. This was after I told him I have pain 5 days out of 7 and had reached my limit. He offered no suggestions or advice, but did suggest I come back in 2 years.
I was there for possible wedge fracture in thorasic spine and pain in coccyx. He had a male person with him taking notes. He said he wasn't going to examine me because one has to be so careful with women these days. He offered nothing except two exercises. He also wouldn't give me referral for PT for coccyx.
Dr.Lewinnek really took the time and talk to me about my neck and back issues. I've been to another spine doctor who didn't give me the time of day. Dr.Lewinnek was a breath of fresh air. What I also liked about him, is that he use to be a surgeon, so he can tell right off the back if you're a surgical candidate.
