Dr. Karp always is so kind and listens to our concerns.
We always recommend Dr. Karp! Great bedside manner and our kids love him!
As a first time mom, I had so many worries & questions with my infant son... the very first appt we had with Dr. Karp cemented him as our permanent PCP! He was very patient & understanding and he took all of my concerns seriously; he really seemed to care about my child, which is super important to me. I have young stepchildren also, and Dr. Karp has been the PCP for all of our children for 3 years now. I trust and appreciate his instruction/advice on all matters that we have needed his expertise for, and I am thankful that ... read more
We had extremely positive experiences with Dr Karp for both of our children. He diagnosed our 6 week old son with RSV and got him admitted to the hospital after being sent home by ER doctors who didn't recognize the gravity of his situation. Over the years he was great about diagnosing the kids problems and managing treatments, and he was in tune with their emotional health and appropriate development and reaction to social issues (Peer pressure, etc) as he talked to them during visits.
Dr. Karp treated both my girls from birth until he moved to NC. I followed him when he switched practices in Virginia and if NC wasn't as far away as it is, I would have followed him there as well. If you're looking for a pediatrician that makes you feel secure knowing that the health of your children is in his hands, look no further. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Karp.
We will miss you! He has been fantastic with all three of my boys!
Best. Doctor. Ever. I can’t recommend Dr. Karp enough. My son just aged out of Dr. Karp’s practice and we are so sad to leave. Dr. Karp is thorough and thoughtful and very responsive, even calling us after office hours when needed. He always found time to see my son if something urgent came up, and is great about filling out school and sports forms. When my son was diagnosed with a chronic disease recently, Dr. Karp spent an hour with us as a family and patiently answered all our questions.
Dr Karp is an very sensible and experienced pediatrician. I came to his office with my child who developed an extremly rare health condition. He examined closely and directed us to the right specialist. Also with my older child I had some routine visits with Dr Karp. So far, I have only had positive experiences and I can truely recommend this doctor.
Unless you can guarantee that you will only be going to Dr. Karp for well child visits, do NOT use this man. He does not know about or care to learn about serious health conditions, even when clear symptoms are rampant and obvious. He does not order basic tests that are needed to rule things out. Worse, he refuses to order basic inexpensive tests that parents request because "I've never ordered them before and I don't know what they are used for." Zero intellectual curiosity. Dangerous.
