I am 5 weeks post surgery from N.P.C. My PTH is16 and my calcium is10.2. Is that ok?
My SIL and I came together last September and had our parathyroid tumors removed. Drs Norman and Lopez were fantastic as well as the entire staff. The web site is great. After reading everything, I knew I wouldn't let anyone else do my surgery!
I have had a high calcium level for about 5 years. I finally had a parathyroidectomy 1 yr ago at T. Jefferson University Hosp; I was in the O. R. 5 1/2 hours!!! 3 1/2 glands removed and still ridiculously high PTH. This has causes numerous ailments and 2 hip replacements in 1 yr along with a dependence on pain meds!! I am in Phila. and need help!!! Any suggestions? $$$ is an issue as well!!!

Just found your website today after finding out that my parathyroid hormones are elevated again - 82! I had to beg my doctor for a PTH test and boy am I glad I did. Had one gland removed almost 5 years ago and I've never really felt "good" afterwards. In fact, I've been slowly feeling more fatigued and depressed to the point I'm now on medical leave.
